Denshi Jisho has freq for 巷 of 2415 of 2500 most used kanji in newspapers ... hmmm, ... , as "Fork in the road" for Robert Frost translation ??
these 12 have been ranked previously as in the top 2500 kanji in newspapers :

that leaves these problematic 50+ kanji
